Smart Card Base Components corrupted

Hi, I have a laptop running Windows XP Media Center and need to get my smart
card reader working. I accidentally installed the Microsoft Win32 Smart Card
Base Components which I guess corrupts the Base Components on a WinXP/2000
machine. I've looked around online and can't find anyway to repair these
components without reinstalling windows. Also, whenever I try to manually
start the Smart Card service it says the following:
"Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"

Any advise would be great!

Thanks
Brent

If you know which ones and where they are , make a folder , drag and
drop them into it and then do a system restore .

I don't know which files need to be replaced and system restore is disabled.
Is there anyway to use the recovery console to just restore windows xp's
default services back to default? Or does anyone know which files need
replacement so i can just copy them from the windows xp cd? I have also
tried running sfc /scannow and that didnt help.

Thanks
Brent
