Slow to hyperlink

Hi,

A colleague has a database in which she hyperlinks various files. However,
it takes between 4 and 7 minutes for access to insert the hyperlink. Is
there anyway to speed this up? What could be causing it? Is it because
there are a lot of hyperlinks in the DB, or is it down to the company
servers?!

It's hard to say without knowing more of the specifics. In any case, more
than a few seconds is unacceptable. Here is a link which may help with some

Thanks for the advice. As I didn't create the DB (it was someone who has
since left here without handing over any information on it - and they had the
strangest way of doing things!) and I'm am a mere novice who likes to dabble,
I think I'll just leave it. They are discussing buying in a bespoke product
to replace it anyway!

Once again, thanks for the links - they may come in useful for one of my own
DBs!
