hyperlinks morph to C: drive

WD2003. I haven't been able to replicate this because it works fine for me.

A colleague added hyperlinks to network files in a document. They worked
fine in format File:///\\server\folder\subfolder\file.doc. Then she emailed
the doc as an attachment and the hyperlinks changed to File:///C:Documents &
Settings\recipient-username\local settings\file.doc.

The pattern seems to be that they work for her if she copies the file path
into the Address field of the Insert-Hyperlink dialogue box but not if she
uses the Look-in navigator pane. Is something broken so I should run Detect &
Repair, or is it a setting I haven't found under Tools > Options? Or perhaps
something else?

I guessed this was either too difficult for the MVPs or too stupid for anyone
to waste time on. I ran Detect and Repair and it detected and repaired
something because the hyperlinks now work as they should

More likely is that no one had encountered it before, and therefore was
unable to advise on the matter...

I'm glad you got it sorted, and thank you for the follow-up.
