i just recently had to use my system restore cd.. i went and downloaded all
the updates that i need but my system is very slow at starting up.. it now
takes almost 5 minutes before everything is loaded.. i was told to use
msconfig to disable startup programs but im not sure how to do this or what
programs that i am able to disable without harming the computer... what else
could be causing the slowness.. i use firewall & antivirus as well as using 4
spyware programs..

i would appreciate any feedback..

please send me an email at (e-mail address removed)

try typing msconfig into run. go to start, click on run, click on open box,
type msconfig, go to the start up tab and see if that works. Most anything
does not need to run at start up there will be nothing wrong with your system
if you deselect all of them. If for some reason this does not help, then
reselect all and start over. hope that helps
