Computer CPU is Intel 801 MHz with 256 mb RAM. Running XP Pro and has the
following hardware attached:
HP DeskJet 895Cse, Lpt connected
USB Hub
Visioneer One Touch Scanner, USB connected
Iomega 100 Zip, USB connected
Logitech Quick Cam, USB connected
2-20 gig hard drives
HP 9100 cd-writer
cd-rom
internal sound and modem
ATI Radon 7000 video card
cable modem to COX
D-link router/firewall
D-link wireless network
Dual booting win98se

Clean install of XP on separate partition. Install went well. Some old
hardware and software but found XP drivers, the equipment drivers worked, or
on couple of software programs use compatibility.

XP shuts down OK but takes 2 minutes, about to the sec., to do so. Start in
Safe Mode, shuts down in 10 sec.

Cleared Start in msconfig of all but two items, both which are running on
another XP computer without problem. Clear virtual memory pagefile Policy is
disabled. Set WaitToKillServiceTimeout in registry to 1000. Have not
disabled Event Viewer loging.

Ideas welcomed.
