Slow response to text input and checkbox settings

Recently I have begun to experience an extremely slow
respons to inputting data into forms, text boxes, and
checkboxes. In addition, scrolling of these pages is also
slow and the response to a mouse scroll wheel is very slow
and erratic.

This does not happen on all WEB pages that I have used.
However, it does seem to be isolated to a few like
Netscape Mail, Quicken Portfolio, and Earthlink pages.

I am currently running with Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP1.

I noticed in the tech notes that a similar problem exisits
whren trying to input Japanese text into a form using
IME. I am not doing that. I am using plain everyday
English.

Hope somebody can help.
