I have three new PCs, XP Pro SP2, that have intermittent performance
problems. One has issues if the user logs off and logs back on without
restart or shutdown. One has had problems from the start, other just
started. No consistency as to when it occurs, will work fine then slow
down, to work fine later. Slow internet, e-mail and opening of network
files. If I logged off the PCs I was guaranteeed a performance issue after
logging back in. All three are on a NT Server 4.0 6a domain with DHCP, DNS
and WINS server. The only solution I have found so far is to make the users
a member of the administrators group on the PC. I have contacted Microsoft
support and was told to contact Dell or pay for a solution. Dell told me it
was a network problem so I had to pay for a solution.
Since this is not an acceptable practice I would appreciate solutions.
Thank you.
