Slow loading web pages...........?

Colin D.

Hi all,
This problem just started.
Start IE6 as usual, but it takes anything up to 4 or 5 minutes to load any
web page and after loading th first "Start" page and moving to another web
page, it takes another 4 or 5 minutes to load that page.
It usually takes about 5 to 10 seconds!
This is getting frustrating, to say the least, has anyone got any ideas?

O.K. So I forgot some details, that might just help me and you, my email is
o.k., sends/receives as fast as ever, and I'm on a DSL line. Like I said it
just started three days ago.
Help?

Hi Colin - I would first suspect malware. Try following ALL the steps
outlined in my Blog, address in signature, in the order given there.

My Fiance ran into the same problem, she had to run a anit-virus program to
fix the problem (say she had a worm) and now her Internet is working like it
should be.

Tried all the usual Adaware and Spybot etc., found nothing. Did some surfing
of these ngs and found something simular, the Java was corrupt. So I
re-installed and all's well, strange as to why?
Thanks to all your suggestions, Colin D.
