slow file transfers to Win 2000 server

When copying files to a Win 2000 server w/SP4 running on
HP DL 380 G3 hardware I am getting very slow performance.
This is regardless of what OS my client runs be it XP,
2000, or another 2000 server. If I go the other direction
and send files from the server to any other host it is
very fast. If I copy locally on the server from folder to
folder on same disk or another disk it is very fast. I am
using the onboard 10/100/1000 NIC in 100/full mode with
switch port configured 100/full as well. No errors
showing up on switch. I also upgraded the NIC driver to
latest dated 5/03. My tests seem to point to receive end
of networking components on the server is the issue. Has
anyone seen this?
