slow down capture of video

I am trying to get rid of the jerky look during capture & ultimately on the
burned dvd of video captured from vcr. It's analogu vhs and the connection
is analog & dv through Dell Atlantis model. Have 92 gb of memory available
and have shut down all programs ( I think) and defraged often. checked dma
and virtual memory. Captured video has color and clearness except for this.
Tape does not have the jerkiness & vcr works fine attacted to tv. Nor do I
have audio WMM, but do have audio in Videowave & Sonic, so that's not the
number one problem at this point.

Hello,

Your problem is typical of a computer that is overstretched or simply not fast
enough. There are two sections that may help you on my website...one under
Movie Maker and the other Hard Drives.....they both relate to speed.

You say you checked DMA, what was the value?

If you have used the XP defragmenter I regret to tell you that you have NOT
defragmented the free space on your hard drive...and its those little pockets
of free space that cause problems like yours...go get a trial version of
Perfect Disk from Raxco and after reading the help file make sure that you set
it to defrag the free space as well as the files. You may also want to let it
defrag your boot sector as well.

Regarding the Audio, have you told Movie Maker where to collect the audio
from??
