Hi,

when i try to access a XP-PC from my Win2000-Machine it takes
about 20-30 seconds every time i try to open a subfolder.

The 2000-PC is running Netbeui only. I had this problem before,
but it runs fine in the last months. I cont remember changing
something in the config of both PCs, so it a little bit strange.

I googled for this problem, but nothing seems to fit really.

thanks,
rob

Home network with no WINS server? Without a wins or lmhosts file netbeui
resolves by broadcasts which may be your detected delay.

Hi, i dont have a wins, but due the fact that the netbeui-machine has no tcp/ip
(and i would like to keep it that way) a wins is not needed.
And, its no problem to find and access the other machine, the delay is on every
click on a subfolder. What makes this more unpleasent, is that the pc freezes
completely during that delay (at least the explorer and related tasks).
This behavior is btw on both machines (xp and 2000).

cheers, rob
