Slideshow ends prematurely? Help!

Hi all
I have a weird issue that's come up

The purpose of the PowerPoint presentation I'm using is to display supertitles for an opera production. Each act has a little over 300 slides. The first time we ran the show with all the slides in one file and we had no problems. So that was over 600 slides in one document. These are not fancy slides - just 2-4 rows of white text on a black background

The next time we ran the show the slideshow ended prematurely at slide number 303! Just before the end of Act 1. During intermission I created a separate file for Act 2, but of course our slide number cues in the music were now no longer any good because I'd removed all the Act 1 slides so we could display things. But of course, near the end of Act 2 the slideshow ended again, prematurely, at Slide 303

I have no idea what's causing this. Can someone help me out here? I'd sure greatly appreciate it. Our final performance is tonight

Thanks in advance

Laura

Is it possible that someone created a custom slide show (Slide Show |

Two things:

1) if you double hit a number (1223 instead of 123) it will take you to the
last slide in the presentation. This happens when things get hectic. Try
placing a small indicator on the last slide (or a new slide after the last
slide) that will tell you if are there so that you can jump back into the
show, where you belong, right away.

2) you can start the slide numbers in the second presentation at where they
would be if you were running one continue one. In other words, Act 1 is
slides 1 thru 303, Act 2 starts with slide number 304. Just goto Act 2 file
and File | Page Set-up ... | and enter 304 in the Number Slides From box.

(A rather late follow up)

Another possibility is if somehow under the show set up menu, a
selection was selected, instead of whole show. If the range was set as
1 to 303, and the entire show was more than 606 slides, simply
deleting the first 303 slides would result in a show that would still
stop after 303 slides (i.e. the next 303 slides).
