Bug in custom slideshow in Powerpoint 2003 & 2007

I have a slideshow which is giving problems.

I repeat slides 2 & 3 every time e.g. slide order is

2,3,4 2,3,5, 2,3,6 2,3,7.........

There was a problem in that the last 3 slides were repeating over and over,
so instead of going to back to start and having slides in this:

2,3,4 2,3,5, 2,3,6 2,3,7 [end of show, go to start]
2,3,4 2,3,5, 2,3,6 2,3,7 [end of show, go to start]
2,3,4 2,3,5, 2,3,6 2,3,7 [end of show, go to start]

it goes like this
2,3,4 2,3,5, 2,3,6 2,3,7 [end of show, excpect go to start but not
going to start]
2,3,7 2,3,7, 2,3,7, [repeating 2,3,7 over and over and not going
back to start]
2,3,7 2,3,7, 2,3,7

What is the solution to this problem?

I have had an independent user verify this is a bug by trying it out too.

How are you doing this? When you set up the custom show and link to it, do
you choose Show and Return? To get from slide 7 back to the start, do you
hyperlink to a slide, advance to the next slide (hit space bar, mouse click,
etc.), or do you hyperlink to End Show? To do this correctly, you only need
to hyperlink to the custom show itself. Any other hyperlinks will just
confuse things.

Create your custom show with 2 3 4 2 3 5 2 3 6 2 3 7

On slide 1, create a link to the custom show and click Show and Return.

Run the show and click on the link. Now, use your space bar (or mouse click)
to advance through the slides. It should do exactly what you want (and does
for me when I just tested it).

If, on the other hand, I end the show with a hyperlink back to slide 1, it
gets very confused and shows slide 7 again.
