SKU011.CAB

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a problem relating to the aforesaid file (SKU011.CAB). A few searches
for solutions on Google has lead me to deduce that problems of this kind are
extremely commonplace and difficult to resolve in the circumstances but I
wanted to post on here anyway in the hope that someone might be able to help
me.

I am using Microsoft Office 2003 and practically everything on it seems to
be working properly except for Excel. It appears to be trying to complete
some sort of installation at the start and demands an original source file,
SKU011.CAB, in order to do this. As Office was pre-installed on this machine
and I do not have the original disks, this is rather out of the question.

The bizarre thing is that I can use Excel: I just have to cancel whatever
installation procedure it is attempting a couple of times every time I try to
start it (I can only assume, as a result, that there are certain Excel
functions as yet unknown to me, which cannot be used). Needless to say I am
also largely unable to update Microsoft Office 2003.

I would really be most grateful if anyone can help me out in this area.
Thanking you in advance,

Most updates are using the installation disks as a way of cutting down on
software theft. If Office was pre-installed on your machine the vendor will
do one of two things.

1) Install fully on the hard drive, meaning you only need to point the
installer to that location on the hard drive
2) Supply you, even on request, a set of installation disks

If the software was bought as a retail package, you MS subsidiary will
replace the disks at a handling cost.

Fortunately, it is becoming more difficult to steal software through these
measures

Hi,

I am also receiving this error message and I am not able to use Excel at
all. I am being prompted to install a CD, or browse to the installation
source on my network. I do not have a CD and I do not know the installation
source.

Could you help me obtain a CD, or direct me to where the installaton source
might be?

Thanks
Andrew

The options I outlined in the thread you have tagged to gave you the only
options for software legitimately bought from a PC vendor or MS as a retail
package. You will be able to obtain media, or help through either of these
solutions.

Of course if the software is not legitimate there is little (legal)
re-course
