Site and Bridgehead server question

Hi,

I am a bit confused with the definition of bridgehead server for a site or
"for a domain."
Say if I have a child domain under a single forest with multiple domains .
This child domain has 4 sites each with 2 DCs . At each site , one DC server
assigned as bridgehead. Then , I create manual connection objects between
these BH servers. However, I noticd that the only site connection objects ,
which is created as automatic objects connects to other domains , only exist
on one of our child domain DC ( which is abridge head ) .

Is there something wrong with my configuration ? (Should n't I have more
connection objects created with other domains as well ( not just one ) ? ).

Is ther something wrong with my BH servers set up - I mean , I shouldn't set
up on each sites a BH but rather just leave on BH set up on one designated
site which will connect with other domain "automatic" ally ? Or , I should
set up one designated BH at one site only but create manual connection
objects with other domains ?

Please help .

Hi,

In each Site (where there is any DC for a domain)
one of them will be selected as the Bridgehead
server.

If multiple Domains have DCs there, then there will
be a Bridgehead for each domain (active.)

DCs within a Domain replicate changes to the Active
Diretory.

(Also, the GCs for a Forest will setup a similar or
parallel topology for getting the forest specific information
replicated.)
Say if I have a child domain under a single forest with multiple domains .

In terms of the Domain "stuff" it only matters that you have
a domain, not that it is a child or anything else.
This child domain has 4 sites each with 2 DCs .

Technically, the Forest has the sites, but we all
use such terminology and it is clear what you (likely)
mean.
At each site , one DC server
assigned as bridgehead.

That's what the KCC normally does by default.
Then , I create manual connection objects between
these BH servers.

Why? If you leave it along, the KCC should do this.
However, I noticd that the only site connection objects ,
which is created as automatic objects connects to other domains , only exist
on one of our child domain DC ( which is abridge head ) .

You mean it only appears there when you attempt to
view the various DCs using Sites and Services?

If so, this indicates a failure (or at least a delay) in
replicating the Configuration partition throughout the
forest.
Is there something wrong with my configuration ? (Should n't I have more
connection objects created with other domains as well ( not just one )
? ).

Likely a failure to replicate which is usually a DNS
problem, assuming that you have no firewall filter issues
or basic IP connectivity failures.
Is ther something wrong with my BH servers set up - I mean , I shouldn't set
up on each sites a BH but rather just leave on BH set up on one designated
site which will connect with other domain "automatic" ally ?

Under most conditions you should let the KCC pick the
BH and set the connection objects. (Although there are
valid reasons for doing it manual in some few, specific
types of situations.)
Or , I should
set up one designated BH at one site only but create manual connection
objects with other domains ?

Normally you let the KCC do it all.
