I recently upgraded a computer with a SiS 5598/6326 video
chipset on the motherboard, driving a Komodo K73P 17"
svga pnp monitor to XP Home. XP recognizes both devices
and claims to have installed the proper driver from the
XP install CD. I cannot get more than 16 (8 bit) colors
on the display. I have been to the SiS website and
support groups, downloaded and installed allegedly XP
driver software, without change. The hardware worked
properly when Win98 was the OS.

Any advice? TIA

its probably the default VGA drivers you have installed.

as for the drivers i checked the SIS webpage and i
couldnt see any drivers for XP for that video card, nor
could i find your card listed. i checked both sub
catagorys (GPUs & intergrated). all i seen was either the
6326 under GPUs, but no XP drivers, and the 5598 under
intergrated which also didnt have any XP drivers listed.

i think you will need to upgrade your video card or
downgrade windows..
