Single-Label Domains

Dragon

Hi,

I would like to find out if anyone sees any major problems with having a
single label domains.

Here is the situation. We create Single Label domain i.e. MyCorp instead of
MyCorp.Local etc. There are usually two Win2K DCs and a few Win2K Pro
machines. They all use SP3. One in a while we see machines saying unable to
find domain controller. At times we see these messages even on the DCs
themselves. Any clues as to why we get this? There is AD enabled DNS
installed on these machines but no WINS.

Also, is it safe to delete the Dot (.) domain installed by DCPromo in DNS?

Thank you.
