Since switching to windows mail it has not allowed me to sent emails. Im
using vista (sp1) I have put in the relvant IMAP/SMTP/PORT No. received from
aol. The error message is:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Cyclists',
Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '556 CLIENT AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED. USE ESMTP EHLO AND AUTH.',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 556, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Ive tried goigng into Tools/Accounts/Properties/Server and checking "My
server requires authentication".

As you can proberly imagine AOL are not very helpfull, they just direct you
to a link with info that has'nt helped rectify the problem!

Any assistance or ideas would be gratefully revieved.

Edit : I've just noticed that when in Properties/Server its showing that my
incoming server is POP3 when it should show IMAP it has POP3 highlighted but
wont allow me to alter it!

This section must be a real pain in the a!s for fou guys!!
