mail not sending

i have my account sent up using my email address from AOL, i've had it like
this about a week an today is the first time i tried sending an email out, i
recieve emails perfectly fine, however when i send them out i get this:

"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Fw: NINE
WORDS WOMEN USE', Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '556 CLIENT AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED. USE ESMTP EHLO

SO IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS

Here is the link for AOL. It says for Outlook Express, it's OK, it works
with Windows Mail too.

Pay attention to : ---
To configure your Outlook Express e-mail account,
step 5 : Check " My server requires authentication "
step 8 : port # is 587 NOT 25

its probally because you have a virus on your computer maybe.
