Simple Network setup

I have a Broadband connection that runs off a router, and
splits into 2 separate computers via a wireless connection.
These two computers are not networked.

However i now have another computer in my room making there
be 3 computers needing internet. I have decided to network
the 2 computers in my room for file sharing purposes, but
NOT network the one that is NOT in my room.

i have wired these 2 computers up, and both register a
connection to the hub. I have run the network setup wizard
on both computers. One of them however, doesnt want to
complete the wizard, saying an error has occured. Both
computers are running of Windows XP. (one xphome, another
xpprofessional)

So this is my problem/question.

*How do i make my network work?

*which option do i select when the wizard asks,

"how does this computer connect to the internet?"

*If it goes through a router is that still a direct connection?



This is a 'semi-diagram' as to what i want, but dont know
how to do it.

KEY = -----> wireless broadband
<=====> Network, simple file sharing.


Broadband modem -->Router ------> PC1 <=====> PC2
------> PC3

hi,
Are you having a setup like this

router>wireless>computer
if yes then make sure you have DHCP disabled on wireless
router and you are using it as an access point not as a
router and it should work fine.

please provide more detials of the network setup if this
doesn't work.

The existing netwrok is a like this

Net--->BBmodem--->Router))))PC1
))))PC2
There is no server. then the 2 pc have a wirless port
which give us access to the internet.

my brothers come home from uni so i have his PC in my room
and we connected them with a Ethernet and another router.

Theese work fine and the computer recocnises them as when u
pull the cable out of the router it tells u that the
netwrok has been disconected.

The problem come when u use the microsoft wizzard to set up
a small home net work u select all the options then it just
says theres an error. so the network now looks like this.

Net--->BBmodem--->Router))))PC1---->PC3
))))PC2
Wat we need is PC£ to have access to the internet without
having to buy another wirless router.
