I've been using Windows XP Office for months / years and have created a
signature without any problems, I've just bought a new computer with Vista on
and have just got to use Vista Windows mail, i'm now having problems
transferring my signature from XP to Windows mail as it keeps saying it's to
big, or when copied & pasted most of it is missing and some fonts are missing
and it just gives a standard font.
I've looked over all the topics listed and i have no logo as it's all done
using Arial Black different sizes etc but nothing to complicated.
I've tried to save it as Word Rich Text, Plain Text etc and this again drops
the font sizes.
Please help as it's driving me mad as XP was so much easier to do this as it
launched Front Page which was great, this new way is so complicated.
Please don't bombozle me with gobble de gook as i'm a simple being and not
very up with special comands just very simple instructions please.
Thanks.

Office uses an extremely bloated form of HTML. You can try saving the file
as "filtered HTML" (look at the drop down box options when saving). That
should reduce of the size of the file.

If its still over 4K, then you can use Notepad to generate the HTML:

<HTML>
<BODY>
Put stuff in here
</BODY>
</HTML>

copy and paste that into Notepad and then edit it and then save as htm file
and then use that as your signature.

This is no different from the way OE has been in the past.

Hi Steve
I've tried to do what you have said but as i've already said i don't have a
clue how to do this, you said to do "filtered HTML" (look at the drop down
box options when saving)" this option is not availble as i said before.
I've now copied and pasted my original signature into every possible
application but still it doesn;t come up as HTML, i've even tried to paste it
into Paint and web application but again it's to big.
Please reply as at the moment i'm copying and pasting my original manually,

<HTML>
<BODY>
Put stuff in here
</BODY>
</HTML>
copy and paste that into Notepad and then edit it and then save as htm file
and then use that as your signature.

What's all this about? I've done this by way of copy & paste but it still
doesn't work

why have Microsoft changed the way this was done as i've said before XP was
so much easier.

Steve,

All done thank you for all your help on this, how i did this was to open a
new email then create my signature follwed by saviung that as a HTML or Text
file and this worked fine.

Great at long last i can just send emails without having to copy & paste
everytime.

Thanks again,

Bruce
