signature problems

When I go set up a signature in outlook the signature picker button is grayed
out and there are no signatures in the drop down list to pick. How can I fix
this.

Start by giving your Outlook version and telling us whether you're using Word as the email editor.

We are using Microsoft Outlook 2000 with service pack 3.
This is right in Outlook in the options for setting up Mail format. We have
already tried the detect and repair.

You didn't answer the key question, though: Are you using Word as your email editor? If so, then you set the signature in Word, as an autotext entry, not in Outlook.
