I have today received the message "Signature for Windows XP
Professional setup is invalid, error code is 6ba". After much searching
on the web and noticing that not one per seems to agree with another, I
am about to throw a solution into the mix.
With all of the reports on the installation error occurring at 39
minutes it would appear that the issue is not with the hdd, the
installation cd or the bios revision.
This problem occurs when the installation attempts to fully utilise the
memory of the machine. If you perform a soak test on the memory, you
will find that this is the cause of the problem. If you have an
additional RAM chip installed, remove it and test each chip
individually until you establish the faulty component.
I hope that this may clear up this issue as MS TechNet does not appear
to publish a solution.
