Sign in from Windows e-mail

I have an account with Microsoft Newsgroup that I set up before I got on
Windows Mail. Now, when I try to sign in from Windows Mail (as I am
requested to do when I try to post), the sign-in button does not bring up a
window. I turned on 'accept popups' in IE, but can't get anything when I
select the Sign In buttons in Mail.

How do I set this up?

Just access these newsgroups using the Microsoft Communities which is
already set up in Windows Mail. It uses the MS server. There are no
passwords or sign in.

If one wants to use Communities functionality, e.g., tagging a post as a
question, one must sign in with a passport account. At least in Windows
Mail. Not sure about the web app.

I don't use the Communities functionality so I'm unaware of a need for a
password. It's certainly not needed to access the newsgroups using NNTP.

Rock,

Well... must admit I'm not even sure what the Communities functionality
provides other than tagging posts as a Question or a Comment and rating
posts. I don't really use any of those either... was just commenting that
logon is required in Mail if one wants to use those tools.
