Perhaps it's a USB 2.0 issue? I believe USB 2.0 is only supported in WinXP
SP1 not the original WinXP and even then I think it depends on how you
arrived at SP1 (eg was it pre-installed for you when you got your PC or did
you upgrade). Make sure you read the both (or are there more than 2?) of the
knowledge base articles on this. They have titles like "Support for USB 2.0
in Windows XP".

I would make sure you have the latest USB 2.0 support correctly installed
THEN re-install the latest sidewinder drivers from the MS web site if your
copy isn't the latest.

all so i do agree its a usb 2.0 issue ok lets adress it cause even with 98 software it worked fine oh yea all the rest of my usb devices work great on this new mother board in fact mb works great everything but this .and only way i can get it to work at all is disableing usb 2.0 and seting it at 1.1 cause otherwise it really does funky chicken thing almost has a some sort of spazum lol its kinda funny but not both worked great before new mb this time usb2.0 had xp home then same as now difference everything works but sidewindewr ffb2 stick.

funny thing is is that theres an ad in sidewinder site that says sidewinder joysticks now suported by xp well that would be great but WHERES THE PATCH FOR USB2.0!on my last mb it was not a usb2.0 mb i ran xp since it came out no problems i have had 4 of theses very expensive sticks currently have 2 now. oh yea my other mb even had a via chipset to no problems.microsoft has an artcle in the kb Q321127 that for most part adresses this issue but of course it just says they have been made aware of it and THATS IT LET ME REMIND THESES ARE 100 BUCKS A POP ATLEAST .you can almost buy xp for that .2 of sticks i have purchased xp had been out for some time and you get win 98 drivers?????support from side winder is a joke help plz
