Sidebar Question

When i click on Show Desktop the Sidebar is also minimised,
I know that you can stop the sidebar minimising by clicking on Properties -
keep Sidebar is always on top of screen.
Is it possible to show the desktop and leave the Sidebar showing without it
always being on top

Mike,

The short answer would be 'No'. When you choose to view the desktop, you will be presented with the
view of the desktop only. Sidebar is not really part of the desktop per se. Now, if you set sidebar
to be always on top, this would ignore the prior setting and put sidebar always on top, not matter
what.

Perhaps what you want can be accomplished by right-clicking a gadget,
and choosing DETACH FROM SIDEBAR.

The detached gadget will be seen everywhere, even on the Desktop.

Thanks for your responses , detaching the gadgets doesn't solve the issue

In Help & Support, search for keyboard shortcuts, select 'Microsoft keyboard
shortcuts'. Some of the info you'll find:

Windows logo key +M
Minimize all windows

Windows logo key +SHIFT+M
Restore minimized windows to the desktop

Windows logo key +SPACEBAR
Bring all gadgets to the front and select Windows Sidebar

Windows logo key +G
Cycle through Sidebar gadgets
