Shutdown

I've been upgrading some Gateway 2000 PII's and PIII's from
Windows 98 to Windows 2000. Everything gets upgraded just
fine except the Shutdown function no longer powers off the
computer. Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 is installed. Any
thoughts on whether this is a Gateway issue or a windows
2000 issue? Thanks!

I have had the same problem in the past. It seems the only way to cure it is to go to the Control Panel and click on power options. Go to the APM (advanced power managment) tab and check or uncheck the "Enable Advanced Power Management support" box (whichever is the opposite of what it is now......believe it or not I have had it both ways). Click OK and now it will shutdown w/o pressing the button.
