shutdown makes PC restart

Hi, I'm unable to shutdown my PC since I installed Vista Ultimate RTM
version from MSDN. I choose the correct "shutdown" option and the PC shuts
down for about half a second and then restarts. I've tried changing the
power management theme though not the advanced settings. Could it be driver
/ BIOS related? It always worked in XP though.

In the meantime, is it safe to use the standby option and then turn off the
power?

Thanks.

You should check your BIOS settings for any wake settings. Shutting down in
sleep state is the same as power off except going into sleep state has
saved any open documents.

Could be drivers, could be the bios, could be memory - so its hard to say.
It's likely to be drivers though at this early stage as I've had various
Driver_Power_State_Failure blue screens come up when going out of Sleep
mode.
