I lost power to my Vista Home Premium PC during shutdown and now can't
restart. Tried safe mode etc and it just wont load up Windows. Tried putting
in Vista CD and restarting to enable boot from CD and then to "Repair" but
CD spins up yet doesn't appear to interact (read).
Is their something else I can try?

Hi,

Do you get any error messages at all?
As for the CD Drive, enter the BIOS and make sure it's set to boot first.

Windows Error message =
'Windows failed to start. A recent Hardware change might be the cause. To
fix the problem insert your windows installation disk and restart your
computer. Select Next and click "Repair your computer"."
Tried this (with your help). Received "Windows is loading files". Eventualy
the Vista backdrop appeared, and got to the stage where it asked for Repair
or install. I asked for repair and it asked for drivers disk but went
knowhere from there. I have now repeated that procedure but this time it
repaired and I appear to be running again. Phew. Thanks for your help and as
well it has boosted my faith in Vista
