I would boot up in the safe mode with network connection, update my
anti-virus, download "search and destroy" and Ad-Ware. I would first
run the anti-virus or maybe use the Symantec's on line anti-virus
check and then I would run the Ad-Ware and then run the "Search and
Destroy"
This may help you out..
Let us know what happens.

Hi,
My laptop XP doing same thing... just FYI, I tried safe
mode to no avail, took me to same screen and logged off
after login

My friend's Dell does the same thing too. When trying to
boot into safe mode it does the same thing. Anyone know
of anything else that we can try, or is it time to nuke it
and start over?

I'm mwondering how this happened to me and for me there
were 2 events the day before which were not 'normal'
usage of the computer .... my Norton Antivirus
subscription expired and I ran Ad-Aware in a deep scan
and deleted the found spyware..

Did anyone else also have either of these events before
it happened ?

Yes, I am having the same problem and just before it
happened I deleted some files that Norton told me were
adware.

Still can't fix it and getting very worried as I haven't
backed up my files for a while and don't want to lose
them.

HELP
