Select all the pictures, then do a right click and select Grouping > Group.
This will group up the pictures into one.
Now, you will need to add the appear or fade animation effect.
Select the grouped picture.
Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Click Add Effect > Entrance > Appear (Try out fade too)
For fade, you can adjust the speed according to your preference.
View it in slide show and see if it works now.

Thanks for your reply, I did for regrouping, but when I click the slide show
custom Animation. I can't find the Add Effects > Entrance>appear or fade.
What I can see is only the Order & timing - Effects -Chart effects and
Multimedia sitting.
When I scroll down the Entry Animation I found the NO EFFECTS and APPEAR.
is my system someting wrong?
thanks

No, there's nothing wrong. It's just that the solution posted is meant for
PowerPoint 2002/XP and later versions.

On the other hand, if you are using PowerPoint 2000 and below, the steps are
basically the same. Because, PowerPoint 2000 and below does not have new
animation effects such as fade, you can use effects such as Appear and
Dissolve instead.
