I was doing some research on the Net, and hit a bad site with
redirection, etc. I ran Spybot, and it found 30 registry items that
should be deleted. However, Spybot will not delete them because they
are supposedly in memory. Spybot shows them as "Smitfraud-C: User
settings." The registry in question is:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2389151098-3917407945-1675197246-1007\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\ then it lists different websites, with
*!=W=4 after the website.
Questions:
- If I delete these registry items, will I screw up my computer?
- What is the purpose of this portion of the registry? Is it supposed
to allow access to those sites, or prevent access to those sites?
Look forward to some help please...
