Every time I open Word or Excel some new shortcuts are created in C:\
They are always shortcuts to the file that I've opened and the folder that the file is in. The result (in Excel) is that it tries to validate each shortcut in C:\ as an Excel file, no matter where it came from. The nett result, again in Excel, is that it takes a looong time to work its way through the shortcuts just to tell me they are all invalid.
The workaround is to delete these before opening Excel ... but it's a real pain. Does anyone out there know why this happens, and how to overcome the problem.
