Shortcut to CD drive invalid

My shortcut to my CD drive said the file had been moved or
deleted, so I went to my computer and created a new one.
It says the same thing. When I click on Find Target it
can't find D: drive. WTF??? CD drive works fine, but "send
shortcut to desktop won't.

Shortcuts are broken: #821557. MS is aware of the issue and are working on
it.

821557 bit me long ago, and removing didn't help. Any update on a fix
for those of us with hosed systems? Selecting the "Shared Documents"
folder on my system makes the desktop blank out, lose some systray
icons, and Windows Explorer becomes Windows Exploder. Thanks for any
update info you can give, since I can't get any attention anywhere
else.
