Shockwave player not working for non-power/admin users

S

Scott Townsend

We have a Windows 2000 Terminal Server setup with a bunch of clients.
The joe average user cannot see Flash or Shockwave websites.

An admin user can see the sites just fine. If I change the permissions of
the user to Power user, its fine. Though Since this machine is used by any
people it need to be pretty secure.

What permissions can I change to allow the Joe average user to view the
sites?

I've gone though the registry and given Full Control permissions to the
CLSIDs of the players and all of the other Registry entries I could find for
Shockwave, flash and Macromedia...

I have not rebooted the server but I have logged off and back on as a user
that could not view sites and its still not happy.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott<-

Did it work before, or did you just install it?

If it worked before, what has changed, and do you have a backup?

Do users have read & execute permissions to the executeables?

Did you install the applications while in install mode, i.e. via Cmd ->
change user /install, or Add/Remove Programs?

You could use regmon & filemon from sysinternals.com to assist your
troubleshooting.
