sharing fax line with voice line

I have recently set up my compuuter to send and receive
faxes. (Using Windows XP home edition).

I only have one phone line so the fax is shared with the
voice. How do I configure the fax to be able to recieve
only after the answering machine picks up and someone
wishes to send a fax?

Distinctive Ring is not supported by Windows XP. Therefore, Windows XP Fax
will answer every incoming call it receives. The alternative is to install
an external switching device to your phone line.
