sharing a scanner on the network -- now it is possible

This is in response to an earlier thread asking if it is possible to
share a scanner over a network.

The answer is "Yes" if you are using Windows.

There is low-cost, comercial software that solves this problem. You
can find several soruces if you do a google search for

share scanner
or
remote scan

One of the sites where you can purchase the software from is located
at

They have a free trial copy of the software so you can test it out and
see it work before you buy.

For a business it might be useful, but I would never purchase it for home
use.
At $49.00 for a 1 year "lease" it would be cheaper purchase a second, or
even second and third scanner in the long run. If you ever come out with a
version more practicle for home users Steve, let us know as your almost
there now.
