Shared folder permissions

I have set up a shared folder on my Windows 2000 PC in order to enable
access for my wife from her Windows 2000 PC via a small home network
(consisting of an Ethernet router, mainly for sharing the broadband
connection).

It works in principle, but whenever the shared folder is accessed from
her machine for the first time after a reboot, the system asks for user
name and password, despite the fact that no password is set up for
either machine.

Is it possible to enable access without these repeated requests for
login details?

Thank you.

1. give all the accounts passwords
2. make sure all accounts are duplicated on every machine and that username
and passwords agree across all the machines.
3. Make sure the Workgroup Names all match

Thanks, I'll try that and report back.
