setup starts but can not cont. no hard drive

i can boot from cd rom and set up starts but when i choose set up windows xp
and enter it reads setup can not cont. cant find a hard drive not in that
exact wording but can some one help me im trying to install xp home

You are probably using SATA drives, go in the BIOS and see if you can
set the hard drive to "IDE" Mode (or IDE Emulation). After Windows is
installed install the motherboard drivers then go back in the BIOS and
set the hard drives back to SATA mode.
