setup can not start windows 2000

I have a clone machine with ID cd rom and hard drive. when I install 2000
server on it gets to the screen where it says " setup is starting windows
2000" and it hangs there for ever. any idea.

That is a hardware problem. Remove any extra cards in the system. Update
BIOS. Set BIOS to defaults. How old is this system?
