settings

Hello!

For some reason, my questions do not come in here, but I
will try again.

Does anybody know how I can change the settings, so that
when I open programs, the top captions will be as in
Windows 98?

That is, it will state for example:

c:\my documents\politics\China.doc

rather than as in XP:

c:\documents and settings\my full name\my
documents\politics\China.doc

???

I see absolutely no reason to have this extra
"documents and settings\my full name" and because of
this, I cannot read the name of the docuement in my
programs, since the caption becomes so long.

Finally, please if some administrator for some reason
will not let me ask this simple quesiton, please contact
me and let me know which forum I can use for this
question.

Thanks,
Steve

That is the exact location of the file you are editing. If you want it
shorter, create a new folder at the root of the drive and save all your
documents there. Make it the default file location for the software you are
using.
