Setting up Outlook 2002 for sending/receiving e-mail

Pat E.

Hello,
I am using XP small office Outlook 2002 and trying to set up to send and
receive e-mail. I have used Outlook Express for ages and it works fine. I
have configured the Outlook with the info from my ISP (Hughes.net). I can
send a test e-mail and it shows up in OE and on the hughes.net server but
when I try to send a message through Outlook 2002 I get an error message that
says "The operation failed. An object could not be found." Can anyone help me
figure this out. Thanks.

When you setup Outlook, did you create a Personal Folders (.PST or Outlook
Data) file? It sounds like you may not have.

I tried to do that and still no luck. Would it be better to reinstall Outlook
since I haven't really used it before? Maybe starting from scratch it will go
smoother?
Thanks for your help.

After creating the file, it must be attached to Outlook and set as default
delivery location.

I created the file, saved it in Outlook under personal folders(a .pst file)
and still no luck. I changed to the default location and restarted Outlook. I
still get the same original message. I'm going to try a different e-mail
address from scratch and see if it works. Thanks for you help on this.
