setting homepage

J

Joel

Greetings all:

I have developed an annoying problem with IE6. I have my
home page set to a specific site (my.yahoo.com). This
past week, the hompage has been reset to
global-finder.com. Every time I go back and reset the
home page to how I want it, somehow it gets changed to
this global-finder.com again. Usually when I
start/restart the PC. Is there a way I can remove
whatever program off my PC that is setting my homepage?

Thanks,
Joel

A virus or some address id.. seems to have caused the problem.
I had the same.. few months ago..
follow proceedure..
1- open properties of IE icon on desk top.
-under general tab,Home page, see address specified.
-leave window open
-go to start,program,accessories,system tools,system information.
-a window will appear.
-open tools,sytem config utility...open
-clisk on startup, a list of files will appear with a

2- 'ckeck mark' on the left side of the
boxes.
-- verify if any of these programs has any reseblance to the IE6 home page
that you have open.-- if so, remove check mark, click applied, change address
on IE6 home page to your preferred browser/addresse,click apply and OK.
Restart Your comp.
If problems still exist, try to uncheck all of the check marks on the
start-menu
with the exception of your virus.exe programs.
-repeat the same item '2' exept on the IE6 home page press box BLANK ,
apply,restart your comp.
- check your IE icon properties, and reset your homepage to the one you want
to use.

Good Luck
It will work.
Ciao
Mike
