Setting AD Perms Through Scripts

I'm looking for some good how-tos on setting permissions
and changing properties on users in AD through scripting.
In our domain we use XMedius fax services and Cisco IP
Telephony integrated in to AD. They have modified the
schema and added their own respective tabs in the
properties of our users.
I would like to know how to set/change these properties and
the rest through scripting.\

We are running a Win2k3 domain.
