Set-up Error when trying to install Windows XP Service Pack 2

Hi all,
I was hoping someone might be able to guide me in figuring out why I am
getting the following Setup Error when I try and install Windows XP Service
Pack 2.

"Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)"
"Installation did not complete"

I am truly at a loss and would appreciate any help if anyone out there has
experienced this same issue!

You likely have a bad CD if you are installing from a SP2 CD. Try the direct download:

Thank you for the link and your time! Unfortunately that didn't work
either...I got the same message. Any other thoughts?

I shall suggest you to check your hard disk-whether it has any bad
sector or not.

Hi,
I was wondering if you were able to solve the problem and how you did it? I
am experiencing the same situation (cyclic redundancy check).
