Set languages via group policy

M

me

Hi there,

we want to roll out more languages on our computers. Thus we installed
them on the machines. After running sysprep though, about any (but the
standard) languages disappeared from the systray. So you had to enable
them either all manually or do something via GPO.

Thus i wrote some ADM file myself to show/hide the languages in the
systray.

Unfortunately i face about the same problem as in the topic of "set
the wallpaper via vbscript" - the changes only take affect when i log
off and on again witht he same user.

What API do i have to invoke to make those language changes (via
policy) take affect right away?

Thanks for your help

Back On http://support.microsoft.com/?id=819783

It seem there is a group policy available so no one can disable the language
bar, perhaps this will help.

thanks, but that's not what i actually was meaning. Might be i
expressed myself badly :(
(English isnt my first language)

I do not try to hide the bar or anything like that. I want to enable
the languages - those normally are set in the registry
HKCU | KeyboardLayout | Preload
There the languages are being written to - when they are shown. That
is what my GPO would do. Set values there, or disable them (of course
the languages themselves are installed on the system already).

Just that when you first log on, you only have the standard languages
active, after you log off and back on, you see all those langauges
that i set via the registry.

Manfred,

This is not my area of specialty but let me give you some more info that
"may" be helpful.

"The default setting for the keyboard layout cannot be
changed after a syspreped setup has completed...this means that you have to
prepoplute the keyboadlayout= and InputLocale entries in unattend.txt"

If the above information is not useful try to post this to a Sysprep or
Automated Install type of Microsoft newsgroup.
