set diffent slide duration

I have a short slide show running on a loop. I wish to have the slides remain
on the screen for differnt durations. i.e slide one for 2 minutes, slide two
for 30 secs, slide three 1 minute

Have you tried using the rehearse timing feature?
In PowerPoint 2003 go to slidesorter view, in the slide sorter toolbar click
on the rehearse timing button, the Try-out toolbar should appear, timer will
run, click on the next button to change slides.
At the end a message will appear stating the total time needed for the
presentation, asking you if you want to use the timings or not.
