Hello all...
I have a VPN end point setup on one of my PC's on my home network, which is
running Windows XP Professional SP2
The way it works is:
ANYPC with Microsoft VPN Client >> INTERNET >> MYROUTER PORT FORWARDS 1723
I know it was working back on service pack 1 but although the VPN Client
connects and authenticates me perfectly, and I can ping my router and my
wireless access point (192.168.1.254 and 192.168.1.253) on the other side at
home, I can't ping my PC's that have XP SP2 on, and also cannot use remote
desktop, file and printer sharing etc etc....
I've checked the windows firewall settings that are set to allow the
incoming connections for the VPN (obviously I was expecting this because it
connects and authenticates) but I can't understand why nothing else works as
surely it should be tunneling through port 1723, and as far as it is
concerned the request is still coming from a (virtual) internal address?
Can anyone shed any light on this, it has to be SP2 I'm sure!
Gaz.
