Service Packs

How can I find out which service pack I have installed on my computer? I am
running XP Pro and my computer is just a year old--give or take. Is there a
log of what service packs are installed on my computer? Or is this listed
somewhere in my system info?

Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information, System
Summary, Version.
This assumes you are referring to Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2.

Right click "My Computer" icon on desktop or Start menu and choose
"Properties".There will be the service pack info [if installed].

That works on My Computer, but not on Start, on my Windows XP Home PC.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type winver
3. Click OK.

A dialog box displays the version that you are running.

Displays the list of all Windows updates (Service Packs and Hotfixes) installed on
your local computer.

That's why I said that on the desktop or in the start menu because it is a
user choice to show it or not.
