Service pack and antivirus problem.

Hi all
just a question for a friend of mine he was installing service pack
three when Avast anti virus found something allow or not allow he
denied it and since then is unable to get on the internet.
i told him to try a roll back which he is now doing and i am waiting
for a reply.

wondered if anyone on here has had a similar problem.

Avast and any real time malware scanners should be disabled or
uninstalled before proceeding with the SP3 install.

Thanks for your reply.
i did the install of SP3 myself on three PCs with no problems at that
time i was running A V G anti virus.
i now have Avast installed and it seems to be running very well
alongside online armor.
again many thanks for your advice which i will pass on.
